Our lives now include living at one of the nicest senior communities in the USA. Rossmoor in Walnut Creek, CA. We will still travel in the RV but not full time.

Generations of Greenawalts

Beginning the RV adventure where I started life has a certain flair, don’t you think.  A new grand-niece and my dad with us has s certain symmetry.  Our time here has been better than I could have asked.  Dad and Kassi went on an RV ride with us  from Blackfoot up to Island Park just outside Yellowstone.  This means driving up the Snake River which is high, wide and beautiful.  Dad really enjoyed seeing the countryside green and covered with wildflowers, very unusual for this time of year.  Kassi was entertained so we all had fun.

As we drove, I told Dad I remembered the first time he took us to Yellowstone Park.  I was 7 and my brother 5.  I was allowed to buy a beaded little purse with a mirror in it.  I clearly remember sitting outside of  a log motel room, and I looked in the mirror and hated all my freckles.  Then I asked Dad if another memory was real. We actually observed a brown bear use one paw to pop out a rear window of an old Plymouth, crawl inside part way and pull out sacks of food.  Dad had just finished lecturing us about all the dumb people who would roll down their car windows to feed the bear.  He must have had great karma to get his warning modeled so fast for two impressionable kids.

Kassi keeps my Dad on his feet

Dad never thought he would see this area again
